Spellcaster Baby Challenge

1st Matriarch with 6 Kids/5 Pregnancies

Required Pack: Realm of Magic
Recommended Packs: Discover University (DU), Parenthood & Seasons
Optional Pack: Tiny Living

This was a challenge I came up with for fun offline play.

Start with a female teen spellcaster (or she may become one by asking a sage or using a spellcaster who knows the spell).

She will start with no money on an empty lot.

Can play on long lifespan but once the next matriarch is a teen, she takes over.

This will span three generations and ends when the last baby born becomes a young adult.

Each generation must have seven spellcaster babies, the youngest must be a female* as she will continue the line (use strawberries and listen to pop music to influence the gender).  Every pregnancy must be with a different father.  If any babies are not spellcasters you can either move them in to the father’s household or you can raise them yourself.  If you decide to raise them, they need to meet the same goals as the rest of the children. If you have multiples, only one of the babies counts towards the total as you need seven pregnancies resulting in seven magical babies.

Aspirations that each matriarch must complete:

  • Serial romantic
  • Both magic aspirations
  • Parenthood aspiration (if have Parenthood)
  • DU aspiration (if have DU)
  • Feel free to complete any other aspirations you wish, I recommend aspiration swapping to earn more reward points.

What qualifies as a spellcaster baby for each generation?

  • First generation of babies should have a weak bloodline trait at a minimum (the 2nd matriarch must have weak bloodline; it can’t be stronger)
  • Second generation of babies should have a strong bloodline trait (the 3rd matriarch must have strong bloodline; it can’t be stronger)
  • Third generation of babies should have an ancient bloodline trait.

Goals that need to be met before you can age up the different life stages:

Toddlers: must max all the toddler skills so they become top notch toddlers, then they can be aged up

Children: must complete all childhood aspirations

Teens: must be A students have at least 5 skills at level 5.

Pack specific goals for children/teens (incl first matriarch):

SEASONS

  • all children must complete all the scout badges, including the teen that becomes the first matriarch (for the ‘babies’, recommend starting as a child when as soon as they age up from toddler)

PARENTHOOD

  • all children must have a minimum of four positive Parenthood values (except the teen who becomes the first matriarch, three is acceptable for her). I recommend starting on character values when they are children.
  • Warning: make sure your teen sims aren’t in a mood swing when they age up or they will die (i.e. have them work off any mood swings (embarrassed, playful, angry) before you age them up). If you use MCCC, feel free to turn off emotional deaths.

DISCOVER UNIVERSITY

  • each matriarch must graduate with a distinguished degree and complete the DU knowledge aspiration.  They each must do enter a career from DU (per the aspiration), but each one must do a different career.
  • teens must prepare for university (level 3 of research and drama & qualify for 3 scholarships)

TINY LIVING

  • the generational home must be a tiny home residential lot, preferably micro or tiny. You can use roof space or any ‘tricks’ to expand the living space, but it must stay in that size for the full challenge. I have a few ‘micro’ homes on the gallery that gives examples of what you can do to add space (Origin ID MapleSimmer)

Note your matriarch will be able to hire whatever services they can, including a nanny and they will be able to work if you can handle looking for the baby daddies, raising children and if you have DU, going to school.  You can also add spellcasters from the gallery or your library to your save.

When you move any raised children out of the house, they must each be given a 20k next egg from the family’s household funds (i.e. no cheats). It’s up to you if you keep the matriarch in the house after the next generation matriarch is ready to begin, but if/when you move her out, she needs that minimum nest egg too.

Cheats/Mods:

You can use cheats/mods to help with game issues (i.e. to reset sims that are stuck, etc.) and you can use the moveobjects cheat.  You can’t use cheats for needs. Remember that most cheats disable trophies on console. Achievements on computer aren’t disabled by the use of cheats.

Clubs: Feel free to use clubs anywhere, including your home lot

Potions: Feel free to use potions if you want, including the needs potion

Lot Traits/Lot Challenges: Feel free to use and change these as you want.

As mentioned above, feel free to use MCCC to turn off emotional deaths.  If you think you can handle more than 8 sims in the household, feel free to expand the household size using MCCC if your computer can handle it.  Just remember to use the MCCC option for editing sims otherwise any sims over the household limit of 8 will be culled from the game.

*Note while I say to start with a female teen spellcaster, if you want to gender swap and have a male sim carry the babies, just set the ability to do that in CAS. Same goes for the sim carrying on the next generation, in that case you want to eat carrots and listen to alternative music. 😊

If you decide to try this challenge I’d love to hear how it goes, either in my Facebook group Sims Sanctuary or on Twitter @MapleSimmer

  1. Hi Maple Simmer

I am very frustrated and am coming to you for help. I have been trying to garden since Cottage Living has come out. I have been searching for a “how to” since the newest expansion pack came out!! I love the concept of the Sims gardening but now, the plants/Crops start to go bad. Am I the only one with this problem?

Can you please direct me to a “how to” so I can plant crops/flowers….without them dying in one Sim day?

I thank you in advance for whatever help you can offer…

    Regards

    Maggie

    1. I’m sorry to hear you are having problems. I seem to recall there is a bug report, I can try and look for it. If you’re on Facebook or even discord, I have a group for each which may be an easier way to communicate, I sometimes find WordPress comments a bit finicky. If not, we can keep trying here. Link to my FB is on this post already, I can also add the discord link. 😊
